Indeed it's established in prophetic traditions that patience is of 3 categories. Patience with hardship in obeying commandments, patience in refraining from prohibitions and patience when struck by trials.
Patience that is rewarded aligns with understanding that trials are from Allah promotional exams, we pass we get promoted to the next exalted level, we fail and we repeat classes.
Often when trials or burdens are mentioned, what comes to our minds are calamities, but trials or tests can come in form of affluence also.
What's certain is that, everyone of us will be tested, one way or the other.
